Why Amarillo Patients Choose Us for Smile Makeovers
Smile makeovers are personal. Three things at Pendergrass and Wilkie Dentistry make the process feel more like a partnership than a package.
A Plan Built Around Your Goals
Every smile makeover at Pendergrass and Wilkie starts with a conversation about what you want your smile to look like. Drs. Pendergrass and Wilkie sequence the treatments (whitening, veneers, bonding, or crowns) around your goals, budget, and timeline rather than pushing a preset package.
Porcelain Veneers and CEREC® Crowns
Porcelain veneers give us fine control over the shape, color, and length of front teeth, while CEREC® same-day crowns handle any structural work in the same office and often in the same visit. You get a fully in-house cosmetic build rather than a lab-plus-referral juggle.
Flexible Financing for Cosmetic Care
Cosmetic dentistry is rarely covered by insurance, so we work with CareCredit® to spread the investment across 0% and low-interest plans for qualified patients. Our team walks you through the numbers at the consultation before any work begins.

Smile Makeover Cost and Financing
Smile makeover cost varies significantly based on which treatments your plan involves. A whitening-and-bonding plan for a couple of teeth is a very different investment from a full set of porcelain veneers, and both are different from a plan that combines veneers with crowns and dental implants. Drs. Pendergrass and Wilkie provide a personalized cost estimate at your consultation after reviewing the specific work you want done.
Because smile makeovers are cosmetic, dental insurance rarely covers the procedures. To make cosmetic dentistry accessible for our Amarillo patients, we partner with CareCredit® for third-party financing. Approved patients can choose from 0% and low-interest payment plans, depending on the amount financed and their qualification. We review the financing options with you at your consultation so you can plan around the full cost before committing to any treatment.
What Is a Smile Makeover?
A smile makeover is a coordinated combination of cosmetic dentistry treatments designed around a specific set of aesthetic goals. Rather than treating one concern at a time and hoping the results add up, a smile makeover sequences the work so the results reinforce each other. If you want whiter teeth, straighter-looking front teeth, and closed gaps, the smile makeover plan decides the order that gets you all three without redoing work.
The difference between a smile makeover and full mouth rehabilitation is scope and intent. Full mouth rehabilitation focuses on function first: replacing missing teeth, treating gum disease, correcting bite issues. A smile makeover focuses on aesthetics first: color, shape, alignment, and proportion of the teeth that show when you smile.

Common Smile Concerns We Address
Most smile makeover patients bring one or more of these concerns to the consultation:
- Deep or stubborn stains that professional whitening alone cannot address
- Small chips, cracks, or worn edges on front teeth
- Small gaps between front teeth
- Old composite bonding that has darkened, chipped, or fallen off
- Teeth that look too short or uneven in length
- Mild misalignment or crookedness that does not require full orthodontics
- A single "problem tooth" that looks different from its neighbors
If your concerns include multiple items from this list, a smile makeover is often more efficient than treating each concern separately.

Smile Makeover FAQ
How long does a smile makeover take?
Most smile makeover plans take two to four appointments, scheduled over a few weeks or months. Whitening or bonding as standalone treatments can be done in a single office visit. Plans that involve porcelain veneers or crowns typically run three to four weeks from consultation to final placement.
Will insurance cover a smile makeover?
Rarely. Cosmetic dentistry is generally considered elective by dental insurance, so most smile makeover treatments (porcelain veneers, whitening, bonding, and cosmetic crowns) are paid out of pocket or financed. If a treatment in the plan is medically necessary (a crown to protect a compromised tooth, for example), that portion may be at least partially covered. Our team helps you understand what to expect at the consultation.
Are smile makeover results permanent?
The results from different treatments last different amounts of time. Professional teeth whitening usually holds for one to two years before a touch-up, porcelain veneers can last ten to fifteen years or longer with good care, and CEREC® crowns often last fifteen years or longer. You can prolong the results of your smile makeover by practicing good hygiene at home and visiting us for cleanings and exams.
Can I get a smile makeover with only whitening and bonding?
Yes. Not every smile makeover involves porcelain veneers. If your concerns are mild like some staining plus a chip or two, a whitening-and-bonding plan can be the right smile makeover for you. The consultation determines what fits your specific case.
